Glory Hour

I know it’s been forever since I’ve posted but I’ve been so busy. I’ve had youth band practice, puppet practice, and then just school altogether. So I guess I’m just gonna have to start from the beginning of what’s been going on starting with last week and the puppets.

Last week we worked like really hard to shorten down our skit we were working on for this Sunday to do in front of the whole church. So unfortunately we had to cut out some stuff but we still did really well today and it was funny. Also last Thursday my dad and a couple of other guys from the church helped us out by building a portable puppet stage for this morning and future puppet ministry, so all of us were really excited about that. A couple of weeks ago we finally got our band to where we could perform on Wednesday nights. So we’ve been working really hard on getting a lot of songs learned and everything, but we came upon a problem of were all the words we had printed out were disappearing so yesterday I typed up all the songs that we know and are working on and put them all organized in a folder.

Now for the reason of my title glory hour, oh my goodness this last Wednesday was amazing the holy spirit was in that room while Andrea was preaching and in the alter. We had people get filled with the Holy Spirit, slain in the spirit, messages spoken to them, and so much more I don’t even know anything that happened. All I can say is we’ve all been talking about it since then especially me. I wish ya’ll could have been there to experience it. Another thing I know and most of the church has come to realize is a revival is coming and you’ve heard it it’s going to start in the youth and it’s even become more noticeable now. Our youth is getting ready everyone needs to get ready for God to come because he’s coming and he’s not holding back.

Wazoo

Wow I hadn't realized how long it had been sinced I'd posted anything. So anyway Fine Arts went great. I can't believe I didn't get to post about it yet but I know lots of other people who are on my friends have.

I've been like crazy busy out the wazoo. As soon as I got back from North Carolina I had school on the Monday after and since then I've had no time. I've had tons of homework, band practice at church, and puppet practice too. I've had lots going on. I didn't even get to go to the zoo with my family this last Saturday cause I've been so busy. I ended up having to stay home and do chores and homework all weekend I really haven't gotten to talk to anyone. It's kind of ridiculous.

Sorry this is all I could post today I'll try to post more later on this week. Like I said I've been busy out the wazoo. So post more later.

Nationals

So we’re all leaving for Nationals today in North Carolina. Here’s the fun part though because we aren’t leaving until midnight. So this should be a fun trip I really can’t wait to see everyone again because I haven’t seen them since districts really so this should be a fun week hopefully. Amazingly I can’t think of anything else to say other than this so this is a short blog for you to read. Yay!!!

Exodus

Well I was reading in my bible today and so far I’ve gotten to the book of Exodus, and it was talking about after Moses had led the Israelites out of Egypt and God wanted Aaron and his sons to become priest for him and it was going on and on about everything that had to be done for the consecrations and it was supposed to take seven days to complete and tons of things that had to be built and everything had to be done a certain way. Then I started thinking God wants you to do something he doesn’t want you to go about and solving or doing something your own way but he wants you to do it in the way he tells you he just wants you to listen and follow his commands.

For example when Moses was told to call water out of a rock for God’s people well Moses didn’t follow what God said. He struck the rock with his staff now in this instance God allowed the water to come out of the rock but if you do something your own way that doesn’t mean it will work out like you want it to. Maybe nothing will happen, or maybe everything will go down spiral and turn out the worst way possible. You never know but that’s just what I had on my mind today.

So Far So Good

Well so far this week has been really good, but the fun ends tomorrow if I were even having fun at all. My summer always consist of babysitting from dusk til dawn. But it ends tomorrow cause then we start youth band practice and we don't even have a lead guitar of a keyboard player so it's going to be hard no having anyone play lead unless the guy who is supposed to play guitar miraculously shows up then that would be really nice.

Then Fine Arts is in a couple of weeks. I really need to work harder on learning my sermon, but I don't know why but it just seems hard but I'm really going to try. Although I am looking forward to fine arts cause I know it's going to be a blast I mean come on PlanetShakers is going to be there again this year and they are amazing.

After fine arts though we get back on a friday right after that school starts on monday, but I really am looking forward to that because I haven't seen most of them in a really long time and I can't wait to see and hang out with all my friends cause I mean come on who doesn't have awesome friends?

But on top of all this I still need to find a job. I know I've filled out like 10 applications already this week so I'm hoping I get a call back from one of them so wish me luck.

Wow

Hey sorry I didn't realize I hadn't posted in so long but my internet has been actin crazy and whenever I had anything worth talkin about my internet was down and all messed up. Then I kindof forgot my password for my blog but I think we should be good now since I have it all figured out. So here's what's been going on lately.

Well were getting a youth band started at my church and I think that's kindof cool cause I've known the drummer and the bass player my whole life so it's really cool. I get to sing along with two new friends who are pretty cool. I think we have a lead guitar player but I'm not quite sure cause I haven't seen him at church for a couple of weeks, but what I have heard him play he's not bad but he has a lot he can learn from other people I know. We had our first practice a couple of weeks ago and it went pretty well. It was so annoying though cause we all knew this one song and it wasn't like we were learning a new one but we sang and played "Trading my Sorrows" for an hour and a half, but were going to start learning some new songs this next Wednesday at practice.

Our youth group is getting ready to start raising money to go to Youth Convention this year. I'm so excited for it to cause it's back in Nashville again which is a big help which means we won't have to stay in a hotel but it's a lot of fun walking around the mall.

National Fine Arts is coming up in August and I am so excited. I'm really kind of nervous too because there are so many talented people there it makes you nervous.

Indiana Jones

So I know I haven't posted lately, but there hasn't been much going on until this last weekent that is.

Friday was our End of School Bash here at my house. It was a ton of fun. I had a couple of friends that don't go to my church come over snd as far as I know they had fun. Jessica was going to come so we could hang out before she went to Equador, but she had to stay home and clean. So that was okay though cause she is down there now I think. But Friday we had a small devotional and a time of worship around the fire and it was amazing how everyone just entered in, in my own backyard. So that was how Friday was, oh and we even had SMORES!!!! Whoo hoo!!!!

Saturdaywas fun too. My friend's birthday was a couple of weeks ago so to celebrate we all went to go see the new Indiana Jones. It was pretty good, I thought, but I won't spoil it for those of you who haven't seen it. So it was fun there and then we all went to Sonic and hung out and just talked.

So now that ya'll know how my weekend was this is what I have actually coming up this summer. I'll just tell ya right now pretty much nothing. I'm trying to get a job either at Sonic or the oldest living Dairy Queen in Tennessee since I'm not going to camp. I'm trying to save up money so that I have some when I need it. So hopefully I'll get hired and then I have National Fine Arts in August and of course there is baby-sitting during the day all summer long. Hope your summer is better than mine.

Sorry

So I know I haven't posted on here in a while, sorry, so let me give ya'll and update.

Since the begining of the month I have found out that I'm not working at camp. So I'm applying to a few places in town to try and find a job. Were getting ready for an end of school bash that were having at our church, and SCHOOL'S ALMOST OUT!!!!! Whoo Hoo!!!!

So yeah I we're having a hudge bon fire out at my house since I live outside of city limits and I'm gonna have everyone bring all there old workbooks and were gonna burn them. It's gonna be awesome. So yeah amazingly I think that's it.

Oh yeah and I think I'm going with one of my friends to the movies for his birthday with some other friends. So yeah I'll try to post more often. Enjoy your summers.

Nothing Much

Hey guys, nothing much going on here. I can't wait til' August for Charlotte, and I hope Terry calls me soon to let me know if I'm working at camp this summer or not. I should find out some time this month.

So last night was my last night at the Hendersonville church. I sure am gonna miss all of you guys. But don't worry here's my myspace if you want to find me. (www.myspace.com/hick716). Annie wants me to preach my short sermon for the youth at my new church and I'm a little nervous because I've known most of these guys my whole life. So wish me luck.

We're Going To North Carolina

Alright so fine arts was amazing. Everyone did fantastic. We have eleven people going to nationals in , I think, six or seven catagories. It's in Charlotte, North Carolina, but unfortunatly we have to wait til' Auguest. But just wanted to let you guys know what was going on.

So this Wednesday we are have 94.1 The Fish come to church because we are the church of the week. Now everyone come out and bring a friend or two it will be a lot of fun.

For those of you that actually read this blog, I'm letting you know that the Radio Night will be my last Wednesday at this church. I'm still planning on probably going to Nationals with ya'll, and if I'm not working at camp I'll probably be going the same week so I'll probably see ya'll there too. I'll come and vist. I'll miss all of you. Hope to see ya'll later on in life.

Internet Broke Down

Hey guys, so I haven't been able to post anything lately because my internet had been down. So let my re-cap what's been going on around here lately.
There was the girl's sleepover a couple of weeks ago at Lisa's. That was a ton of fun. I made some new friends and got to know a lot of people better. So for those of you that didn't get to go from our church you sure messed out.

Alright so this last Wednesday I went to my old church. Even though the name's changed and new people have come I still already knew a lot of my old friends that I go to school with and it was a blast. They have a new youth pastor who just moved here from Texas, a million miles away, and I would have to say that honestly her first service I went to the last wednesday has to be one of the more powerful services I've been to lately. She talked about what is your calling/ dream, and one thing she said is that although you may not realize it your dream is your calling because God created each and everyone of us and he put that dream in us so that makes it our calling. She also said and then there are people that they just have God tell them what they are going to do like me, God has CALLED me to be a missionary to Venezuela. I didn't chose to be a missionary or to go there. I am actually really interested in forensics. I think it's so cool how forensic scientist can take something so small ant connect it to one certain person. It just blows my mind. Annie also talked about how none of us are here by mistake we are all here for a reason. If there wasn't a reason for us to be here I don't think we would be.

Oh, Fine Arts Festival is coming up next week. I'm taking a poem I wrote, that you can find on my profile, and I have to finish up my short sermon this weekend and preach it to the youth group next wednesday. Wish me luck!!!

For the Girls out There

Now first I want to say for the guys that read this anyway no offense intended.

Now girls, I'm sure by now in life you've realized that guys can be crazy or stupid at times...? It just doesn't make any sense at all does it. We should be able to stand up to the guys or even just the people in our lives that can be crazy and such and reach out to them and tell them what we think. (preferably without causing physical danger to there current status) but really that's all i wanted to say and get off my chest.

Today

Today has been a really awsome day. I don't know exactly why it's been like a natural high.

So for our church the country foucus this month is Russia. Ricky wants me to look up some stuff and tell the church about it. Did you know that it's the largest country. Most people when you ask them think it's Australia or even Antarctica but it's Russia.

Two missionaries that i found are Paul Baldwin and Doug & Erlene Johnson. I really want us to keep them in our prayers. Also did you know that all the money we raise for speed the light (STL) goes to help missionaries buy everything they need, from puppets to cars. So let's just keep Russia in our prayers. And hope people get reached.

March Maddness

Alright so who doesn't like sports. There awsome right. So I would hope most of you know that March Maddness is going on right now, and for those of you who don't know anything about sports it's the most amazing college basketball tournament out there.

So I hope ya'll do know that the Kansas Jayhawks are going to finally win this year. Get ready for your team to lose. Yes and for all of you that thought the Vols were going to win sorry and that goes double for Ohio.

Yeah so I bought this new book the other day while I was on vacation the other day. It's called Skin by Ted DeKker. It's one of the most suspensful mysteries I've read in a while. I encourage you to go pick it up and read it it's absolutly amazing I haven't been able to put it down.

Unfortunatly though I've had to find a way to put it down because of school. It's spring break and I have two prodjects due I have to work on. Isn't school hard? So leave your comments. Let me know your thoughts and I'll do my best to reply when I'm not busy.
